Current composition of NGL-based microarrays

The microarray system contains glycan probes, natural and synthetic, encompassing sequences found on glycoproteins, glycolipids, and proteoglycans, also those derived from glucan polysaccharides of fungi, bacteria and plants. We have almost 1000 lipid-linked sequence-defined glycan probes of which we currently display 796; others will be added later.

N-Glycans

  • high mannose
  • paucimannose
  • complex
  • hybrid

O-Glycans

  • mucin type
  • O-Fucosyl
  • O-Mannosyl

Glycolipids

  • neutral
  • sialylated (e.g. gangliosides)
  • sulfated

Other oligosaccharides

  • A, B & H blood group-related
  • Lewis antigens a, b, x, y
  • other neutral

Glycan Library List

There is a choice of textual or symbolic representation of glycan sequences. The lists of glycan probes can be downloaded as a PDF file.
Explanations of monosaccharide symbols and lipid tags can be downloaded as PDF files

Glycan Library Search Tool

Search filters are provided for:

  • 'Backbone Type'
  • 'Terminal Residues'
  • 'Sialyl Linkage'
One category can be selected from 'Backbone Type' and one from 'Sialyl Linkage' but any number from 'Terminal Residues'. These selections are combined to give a filtered list arranged in order of 'Backbone Type'
