Analyte Information	Amino acid sequence 21-159 of human ZG16p was expressed in Escherichia coli as a hexa-His-MBP-fused protein. The ZG16p is a soluble mammalian lectin with a Jacalin-related b-prism-fold. It is a secretory protein that was shown to play a role in in the process of selective packing and sorting of pancreatic enzymes to the zymogen granule membrane in pancreatic acinar cells. Other functions, including the recognition of pathogens in the digestive system through a-mannose-related interaction are being discovered.

Protocol	After blocking arrayed slides with 3% (w/v) bovine serum albumin (Sigma A8577) in PBS, the (His)6-MBP-fused ZG16p was overlaid onto the arrays at 200 ug/ml (undiluted) followed and anti-His and biotinylated precompleced with anti-mouse IgG (both from Sigma and used at 10 ug/ml). Binding was detected using Alexa Fluor-647-labeled streptavidin from Molecular Probes (1 ug/ml).
